Nationwide Information Request on Government Cell Phone Tracking

The ACLU of South Carolina joined 33 other American Civil Liberties Union affiliates across the nation in seeking information from law enforcement agencies about when, why and how they are using cellphone location data to track local residents. Freedom of Information Requests (FOIAs) were to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, the Myrtle Beach Police Department, and the SC State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) to identify polices and practices at the local, county and state level.
